Short Story!

Heya Uniquifiers! (Is it a little too early for that or…?)

Today, I’m going to be writing a short story because… why not? I just wanted to try it out and see what kind of response I get, so make sure you comment what you think below! Anyway, let’s go!

Sasha settled back in her chair in the beach cafe, fanning her face with her hand. It was hot. And not just ‘hot’ hot, but melt-your-makeup-off-your-face hot. The sun was piercing harshly through the small wisps of clouds, and the sky glowed blue in protest. The air was humid, stifling, and she watched, amused, as a group of tanned, slender girls writhed uncomfortably in their deck chairs. Each time any guy passed by, they sat up and swished their hair back, giggling. Sasha raised an eyebrow and smiled wryly. What a bunch of wannabe Barbies, she thought, shaking her head.

On Monday morning, Sasha was grudgingly taking her books for the day out of her locker, sighing at her miserable life. Why did nothing ever interesting happen? If only Hagrid could swoop her out of Columbus High now, claiming that she was the most important witch in the wizarding world. Oh well. Learning how water ‘magically’ evaporated would be enough for now, she mused, as she began to trudge towards her Chemistry class. She placed her hand on the door knob when suddenly, a random electric tingle shimmied up her spine. Slowly, cautiously, she swiveled around, feeling that someone was watching her. She was right, but only partly.

A lone, shadowy figure of a boy her age was leaning against the lockers opposite her, and he was glaring intensely at one of the Barbies, Madison, from yesterday. She was chatting to him animatedly, oblivious to the fact that he wasn’t replying. His mouth curled up into a sneer from underneath his hood, and, putting his hands in his pockets, he walked away, his long legs striding across the floor effortlessly within two seconds. He brushed past Sasha and turned his head to look at her. She gasped, unable to tear her eyes away from him, a strange energy binding her to him. She knew who he was. Everyone did. Alex Vladimir. Girls had gone crazy for his mysterious personality and his charming looks, whilst boys saw him as a threat. He was, in a way, cooler than everyone else. But rumours had spread like wildfire around the school recently, and none of them were good.

He had two different colored eyes: one bright blue and the other bright green. The small waves of hair that escaped from his hood were golden-brown, a contrast from his pale skin. He would have been attractive, she thought. If only he wasn’t scowling like… that. There was something different about him. He wasn’t like the other boys at school. Something that sent goosebumps up her arm.

All it took was a sudden, agile movement for his fingers to wrap around her wrist, and she looked down at their hands, shellshocked. It burned where he held her, an electric warmth firing through her. She squirmed in his grip, trying to break free. Alex, however, looked darkly amused, his hair falling into his eyes. He pushed it back and grinned widely, supernaturally almost, and whispered into her ear, his breath hot against her face. “Don’t be scared, Sasha. You know I love you, right?”

Sasha shrieked and broke free, jerking away from him. Then he hissed, opening his mouth to bare two pointy front teeth. Her eyes widened and she frantically fiddled with the door knob, practically running into class as she tried to suppress a scream, her cheeks burning. When she slumped into her seat, she was grateful for the the way her teacher droned on about which metals were reactive and which ones weren’t. Because, all throughout the lesson, she couldn’t stop thinking about him. She swallowed the lump in her throat and tried to forget what she had just seen, but it was impossible. He couldn’t possibly have been… Could he?

The next day, both Sasha and Madison were nowhere to be seen…

Well, that’s my incredibly short story for you all! Sorry for the cliffhanger – I don’t usually write dark things like this, haha. I’m honestly more of a happy ending kind of girl, but I wanted to try something new. Tell me if you liked it! Also, if you want more of these, don’t be afraid to suggest new ideas for me to write! Bye!

Have an amazing day, and Stay UniquelyYou! ♥
