Hey There Again! ♥
As you may or may not have known, I wrote a riddle in my last before last post. (Great way to describe it WaviGirl… Claps all around 😂👏) So many – by this I mean like two – people tried to solve my riddle. The most popular answer I received was ‘the moon.’
I asked my English teacher and he said ‘an adjective.’ … What?!
Then, I asked a few of my friends – I got ‘a dream,’ ‘a movie‘ and ‘I don’t know.’ 😂
Well… (Drumroll please!) *tumbleweed rolls past*
A book! To be honest, that’s really LIKE me if you know what I mean… xD
I mean, not to get all ranty on you guys, but when a person reads, they put down their own story and pick up someone else’s. For a precious moment that only belongs to you, you physically (well, mentally) become that person. You think their thoughts, you feel their feelings and as they fall in love, you also fall in love. You get an amazing escape from reality that nothing else can ever give you, ever. Not even an ‘escape’ to the Maldives can give you what a book does – that is – if you actually get lucky enough to find the right kind of book for you. Whenever I’m in stress, or bored, or unwell, I literally just get into my bed with my phone, earphones and obviously, my book. You don’t always have to listen to music whilst reading a book, but I prefer just relaxing to my SoundCloud playlist whilst reading a good book. Some of my favourite authors are Holly Bourne, Holly Smale, Meg Cabot and Zoe Sugg. Holly B is the author of a lot of amazing YA books (young adult) like How Hard Can Love Be and It Only Happens In The Movies.
Holly S is the author of one of the best series ever, aka Geek Girl, which I’m sure all of you have heard of before. Actually, some of the stuff I’ve said before was inspired by her! I mean, girl power, right?
Meg Cabot is the author of a lot of books, but my favorites are her series ‘The Princess Diaries.‘
Finally, I don’t really think I need to explain Zoe Sugg! A great YouTuber and author of a series called ‘Girl Online.’
Another thing, I actually LOVE feminine characters, and I think I’m probably one myself. I can’t stand stereotypes that girls think they’re forced to be, just because someone said so. Not every girl has to love pink, or have blonde hair, or be so incredibly slim that they’re practically size zero. That’s not real life, people! We’re not on the set of Mean Girls here!
Girls are amazing just how they are, no matter what they look like or whatever their personality is like. The annoying thing is, that girls think that if they’re not what they’re ‘supposed’ to be, then they’ll be called names and made fun of, e.t.c. I mean, really?!
Anyways… Back to the topic of books… (Let’s pretend that big cheesy rant never happened… Okay?) 😂
On the topic of books, I love fairy tales. I love watching them, (Thank you Disney!!!) I love reading them and I love telling them. I even love thinking about them when I have nothing better to do ( or, you know, our science teacher is blabbering on about our next assignment). I was lucky enough to visit DisneyLand Paris a little while ago, which is SO worth it!
I even love surfing a random corner of YouTube to find Disney Pixar theories, or little things in a scene in the movie that the audience completely missed out.
My favourite Disney princess is probably Rapunzel (from Tangled), Merida (from Brave) or Moana (from, you guessed it, Moana.)
Have you found any similarities between the princesses yet? They’re all really strong-willed, and all have a purpose. They’re really feminine! They don’t just suddenly fall asleep waiting around for 100 years for a prince to rescue them, (Ahem… Sleeping Beauty!) they save themselves!
But what about you? Who’s YOUR favourite Disney princess? 👸 Comment down below – I’d love to know! But for now, adios chicas!
🌊 Love, WaviGirl x 🌊
